Getting around Victoria is easy and from Abigail's Hotel, it's an easy walk almost anywhere you want to go! Visitors to Victoria also enjoy the many fun ways to get around such as taxis, scenic tours, double-decker buses, horse-drawn carriages, bikes and scooters and water taxis.

The Inner Harbour, bustling with activity, is a great place for people watching. Colourful sailboats and cruising yachts fill the marina and there are several little tour boats to ferry you about. Here you'll find the Parliament Buildings (beautifully lit at night!) and the fascinating Royal British Columbia Museum.

Walking up along Government and Wharf Streets, you'll find many of Victoria's lively restaurants, bistros and nightclubs. You can eat everything from English pub fare to exotic ethnic specialities to haute cuisine here, with plenty of romantic spots and great views to choose from.

Shopping is also a lot of fun in Victoria, where you'll find British woolens, Scottish tartan, and Irish lace. Some of the finest galleries for westcoast native art are here with distinctive masks, prints and silver jewellery. There's all kinds of wares by local artists and craftsmen in the shops...try Market Square. And in Chinatown discover a world of unusual imports.

Just up on Fort Street, you'll find an assortment of Victoria's famous antique shops. Auctions held every Tuesday and Thursday evening can produce a real find for the collector!

The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, well known for its collections from the Far East, and the legendary landmark Craigdarroch Castle, are both within walking distance from Abigail's.

Victoria is also a great spot for all kinds of outdoor recreation... world-class golfing, wilderness hiking, mountain and road biking, wind surfing, sailing, whale watching and great salt-water fishing. The Pacific coastline is spectacular! From Abigail's Hotel you can walk through Beacon Hill Park to the ocean walkways and beaches on Dallas Road. And don't forget to visit Vancouver Island's world famous Butchart Gardens!
